FODMAP — Modify
Use garlic-infused oil; swap honey for maple syrup.
Ingredients
Chicken
- 4 chicken thighs, boneless skin-on
- Salt and pepper
- ¼ cup cornstarch
Soy glaze sauce
- 2½ tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2½ tbsp honey
- 1½ tbsp garlic, minced
- ½ tbsp five-spice powder
Method
Mix the sauce
- Combine the soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce, garlic, and five-spice powder.
Coat and sear
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Coat the chicken with a thin layer of cornstarch on both sides.
- In a pan, drizzle in oil and turn the heat to medium-high. Once hot, add the chicken skin-side down.
- Pan-fry the chicken for 4 minutes per side until crispy and golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Glaze
- Pour the sauce into the pan, mix, and simmer for 30 seconds.
- Return the chicken to the pan and cook 1 minute per side on high heat.
